The Dayara Bugyal Educational Trek is an immersive adventure and learning program that combines Himalayan trekking, environmental education, and cultural exploration. It is specifically crafted to push students out of their comfort zones and into the heart of the pristine Garhwal Himalayas.

Participants get to witness rolling alpine meadows, dense forests, and some of the highest peaks in India, all while learning about the fragile mountain ecosystems and the importance of responsible, sustainable tourism.

Acclimatization in Uttarkashi

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Haridwar to Uttarkashi, where participants settle into a nature resort amidst the serene mountain landscape. The peaceful riverside surroundings, along with an evening bonfire and group interaction, provide the perfect introduction to the expedition while helping students acclimatize to the Himalayan environment.

Mountaineering & Skills Development

The educational experience in Uttarkashi includes visits to the prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), where students gain valuable insights into mountaineering techniques and witness artificial wall climbing demonstrations. The itinerary also features a visit to the historic Vishwanath Temple, offering an opportunity to explore the region's cultural and spiritual heritage. Adventure and obstacle activities, including suspension bridge crossings, help participants develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership.

The Trek to Dayara Bugyal

The trekking expedition begins with a drive to Raithal, the gateway to Dayara Bugyal, followed by a scenic trek through dense oak and rhododendron forests to the picturesque campsite at Gui. Surrounded by pristine Himalayan wilderness, students experience camping in alpine conditions while learning essential trekking practices, environmental conservation, and responsible outdoor behaviour.

Alpine Grasslands & Panoramic Views

A major highlight of the expedition is the trek to the spectacular Dayara Bugyal, one of the most beautiful alpine meadows in the Indian Himalayas, situated at an elevation of approximately 12,000–13,000 feet. The vast rolling grasslands offer breathtaking panoramic views of majestic Himalayan peaks, including Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Draupadi Ka Danda, Gangotri I, II & III, and Srikantha.

Return & Reflection

After exploring the Bugyal, the group retraces the trail back to Raithal before returning to Uttarkashi for relaxation and reflection around a campfire. The educational journey concludes with a visit to Mussoorie, where participants enjoy a trolley ride to Gun Hill, explore the famous Mall Road, and experience one of India's most popular hill stations before departing for Haridwar.
