Amritsar Jalandhar Educational Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar and Wagah Border

On arrival, the group transfers to the hotel for check-in and breakfast. After lunch, head to the Wagah Border (~45 minutes from Amritsar) to watch the Beating Retreat ceremony — a high-energy military display performed by Indian and Pakistani border forces every evening before sunset.

Learning focus: India-Pakistan border history, military ceremony traditions, national symbolism.

Day 2: Full-Day Amritsar Heritage Tour

Morning visit to Ram Bagh Garden and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, which covers the history of the Sikh Empire and its most famous ruler.

After this, students get a hands-on demonstration of how papad and wadi are made — a traditional Punjabi food-preparation process using lentils and spices, often used in dishes like Aloo Wadiyan.

In the afternoon, the group visits Jallianwala Bagh, where the 1919 massacre took place during British colonial rule — a sobering and important stop for understanding India's freedom movement. The Martyrs' Well and bullet-marked walls remain preserved as a memorial.

The day continues with a visit to the Golden Temple complex, where students can witness the langar (community kitchen) that serves free meals to all visitors regardless of religion or background — a strong, real-world example of equality and community service.

Day 3: Pushpa Gujral Science City and Departure

After breakfast and check-out, the group transfers to Kapurthala (near Jalandhar), about 1.5-2 hours from Amritsar, for a full day at Pushpa Gujral Science City — one of North India's largest science centres, with exhibits on energy, space, the human body, and environmental science.

In the evening, return to Amritsar and transfer to Amritsar Railway Station for departure.
